Governance Training

Connexus developed a governance development program for the Microfinance Investment Support Facility for Afghanistan (MISFA Ltd), the apex microfinance investment and promotion agency in Afghanistan. The purpose of the assignment was to strengthen and adjust MISFA’s governance structure to support its board and senior management in realizing its ambitious and challenging agenda. Connexus designed a training workshop, using case studies and participatory exercises, to develop MISFA’s governance capacity and raise awareness of board roles and responsibilities. Additionally, Connexus analyzed MISFA’s governance practices, identified areas for improvement, and developed a two-year action plan for implementation, which included a series of trainings and technical assistance activities to ensure better transparency of reporting information and more effective board input and decision-making.

Connexus received a high rating and praise for the training, including four of the eight participants reporting “a better understanding of the board’s roles and responsibilities” as a result of the training.
