Connexus worked with Chemonics International and Super Novae on the USAID-funded LEAP Activity that works with vulnerable communities, victims of conflict, private enterprises, and business development service (BDS) providers to cultivate community cohesion and enhance private sector competitiveness. Connexus’ Access to Finance Expert worked with Libyan financial institutions (FIs) to determine their capacity and willingness to lend to micro, small, and medium enterprises (MSMEs) and made actionable recommendations for what is needed to expand their outreach and service provision to MSMEs. Connexus also identified FIs interested in partnering with LEAP to build their capacity to help MSMEs grow their business and link them with BDS providers. Through these interventions, Connexus supported LEAP’s partnering with local businesses and organizations to increase economic opportunity, ultimately supporting locally driven peace and reconciliation efforts in Libya’s south.
